[Never let it be said that Meryl doesn't know how to do her research. From the moment she hears that someone in this town has a dark room, she puts her nose to the grindstone. She's able to track it down to one young man in particular — Dipper Pines. Admittedly, she didn't expect a kid to be one for this hobby but... color her pleasantly surprised!
In any case, from there it only takes a few more questions to track down dipper's location, and she arrives outside the Pines house looking... only a slight bit nervous. The Pines energy... she can feel it.
But she's no stranger to weird, now is she? So after steeling her nerves yet again, Meryl knocks firmly on the door. Her camera is slung around her neck, and she lets her free hand settle on it, fiddling with the strap as she waits.]
[The Pines House sits right on the edge of town, nestled gently at the start of the woods. There is certainly a vibe to it, having been a restored structure from the past. It's wood is hundreds of years old, magically preserved, and it rings of an unusual history. There are trinkets hanging from the front porch, that ding faintly in the wind. A well loved couch just next to the door. A two headed squirrel scampers past.]
[The knock on the door does not go unanswered, though it takes a moment or two. Meryl will hear the faint foot steps of something ...four legged? The door creaks open and what meets her eye-level, or possibly taller, is A strange owl creature. It tilts its head 180 degrees as it considers the person at the door.]
[Meryl has tried really hard to get used to the weird shit in the Grove. She's still relatively new, though, and occasionally things manage to get to her. Things like... a creature opening the door and staring at her. She leaps back with a yelp, body tightening as if she might just bound away. When it doesn't outright attack her, though, she manages to loosen up Just a fraction.]
Uh. Are you Dipper?
[It stands to reason, right? Everyone's been monsters off and on!]
[You know what? That's pretty fair. The creature that could be Dipper tilts its head in the other direction before before it trundles off, leaving the front door open.]
[It makes a sound that could be construed as a Hoot. It's more like a Hoot. or a HOOT. There's a moment of silence before a trap door hatch opens in the ceiling and out drops a teenager.]
Who's at the door, Alioth?
[Oh, it's a lady he doesn't ...think he's met? He thinks he's seen her in passing. He grins.]
